Musta Kissa, “Black Cat”, is definitely one of the nicest bars in Kallio in my opinion. And the thing I like about it most is not only the reasonable prices but also that even though, out of all the bars in Kallio, Musta Kissa is definitely on the cooler side, it still manages to bring together the young Kallio hipsters and the elderly bar-goers of the neighborhood. The decoration, with the huge paintings of a black cat and the Kallio church watching over the bar, highlights the name of the bar as well as the district.
With the bar being quite small, the atmosphere often gets quite steamy – literally: usually at some point you can’t see through the windows anymore.
Musta Kissa also has some cultural events every now and then, like open mic nights and concerts. And you can also take a look at messages from the clientèle, by going through the pile of guest books you can find in the bathroom.
