Sammakko bookstore – Books for bargain prices

Sammakko means frog in Finnish so the name of this jolly good bookstore is frog bookstore!

I think it is quite funny and sympathetic name for a bookstore – don’t you? The shop it self is very sympathetic as well.

Sammakko is not just a bookstore – it is also a publisher house founded in 1996. This is one of the things that makes it so special. The book selection is always fresh and the prices are not from this century.

Sammakko is located in one of my favourite streets in Helsinki – Eerikinkatu. It is a lively street. If you visit Helsinki I am pretty sure you can not miss this street or this bookshop!

Many books that Sammakko has published are my favourite books. Sammakko bookstore sells also books by other publishers. They also publish some of their hit books in English and they have good (but small) selection of books in English.

Sammakko is the perfect place to get xmas present and souvenirs from Helsinki. If you dont know what to get you may always ask from the very helpful stuff. I just recently got four books and a giftcard for only 20 euros. A bargain!

They also sell postcards and small funny things.
