Taloushoito Oy is maybe the cutest little shop in Kallio, and probably one of the oldest, as it was founded in 1945.
Its window, stuffed with weekly-changing items, covered in hand-written price tags, is an attraction. Usually anyone seeing the shop for the first time has the same reaction: I want to spend my money there! How it is possible to not only fill the window so precisely, but also change it completely at least every week, remains a mystery to me.
Taloushoito Oy mostly sells needlework accessories, but also everything from tablecloths to lace and pillows and even hand-made clothes for Barbie-dolls.
Even I, someone who has always absolutely sucked at needlework, want to shop there. The shop is such a charming place in all its weirdness. The owner is a nice elderly lady who seems to know everybody living in the same building, and is always willing to help you to choose your cat-patterned pillow, or whatever you might be buying.
The shop has probably remained unchanged since it was founded, so NB: cash only!
