Weird Antiques – A shop more like a 1950s’ museum

If you’re arriving to or leaving from Helsinki through the west harbor terminal on Friday or Saturday, I urge you not to jump on the first tram that is waiting! Instead, follow the tram rails for a couple of minutes and look out for Weird Antiques.

If you suddenly realize that you’re in dire need of a mummified cat or a voodoo doll, Weird Antiques is your go to place! Their motto? “If it’s old, cool and weird, we got it!”

The place is set up with care and feels more like a museum than a shop. There’s a tiki lounge, Pan Am and atomic themed diner, beauty parlor for a film star, jukeboxes and a vinyl section worth checking out, Hawaiian shirts and baseball jackets, tin toys – well anything really, that brings up the fabulous fifties in America.

If you happen to be there at the right time, you can even hear an old school rock band practicing somewhere behind the shop.
