EveryBlock.com is a website that helps you keep track of what’s happening in your neighbourhood
You can register on this website, and add local news about your “block” - information on building permits, real estate, etc. It also shows business and restaurant reviews from the (in the US) immensely popular www.Yelp.com.
Currently, local updates are only available in a few large US cities. An example – the beautiful Beacon Hill area in Boston (pictured above): http://boston.everyblock.com/locations/neighborhoods/beacon-hill/.
I think this website is particularly interesting for locals that actually live in a city – less for tourists.

I really like the street photo, I’m a rock lover. Came from your comment on my hyperlocal post. I think the idea of hyperlocal is just as you said here, it’s more interesting for locals than for tourists. But the people who write/ publish a hyperlocal site have to be really connected to the community. It would not be a great project for a hermit.
Totally agree with you Laura. Thanks for your comment!
