Why was my city guide app not fully downloaded?
This is most probably due to a temporary connection error with the App Store while downloading your city guide. It’s easy to resolve, by clicking “Restore” in the “Download guides” tab (at the bottom) after starting up the app. This restores the city guide(s) you bought, and downloads them again. If you paid for the city guide, you will not have to pay again!
Make sure you’re on WIFI, and do not to switch between applications. It can take up to 10 minutes to download a complete city guide, as all maps are stored offline in the app.
Yes, all the tips and maps in all city guides work in offline mode. If you visit an external link, you have to be online – we warn you with a pop-up. Watch out for roaming charges!
How do you keep the tips up-to-date?
Our Spotters write about their favorite spots only – spots they visit frequently. They constantly update their articles, to keep them up-to-date and up-to-season. Whenever you’re online, the app notifies you when there are updates available. If you choose so, the city guide will be updated – for free of course!
All updates of this app and the cityguides will always be free.
Yes! if you want the app to remember a certain spot, you can store it as a “favorite” in a city guide.
You can use the city guide on an Apple device without a GPS (iPod). For the best user experience however, we advise using an iPhone or iPad with GPS.
What happened to the “old” version of the app?
Apple can no longer upgrade our “old” stand-alone city guide apps. We highly recommend downloading (for free!) the current app. It’s faster, offers new functionality (favorites) and more frequent update. Also, you’ll have all your city guides bundled in one app!
