Galata is one of the regions to see when you come to Istanbul. There is a high tower called Galata Tower and if you want to see a magnificent view of Istanbul, you can climb it. So many times you have to wait in a queue but trust me it’s worth the wait.
Near the tower there are lots of traditional and boutique shops and cafes where you can drink a Turkish coffee. And there are also some places where you can eat our traditional meatballs (kofte).
You’ll see many places to sit. A cafe near Galata tower if you want to drink mocha, espresso vb. called Lavazza, a Turkish restaurant called Kiva if you want to try our famous tapas with rakı (their menu is in English too).
In Galata, many local shops sell fresh fruits and juices. If you’re walking in the morning, you should take a slice of pineapple and a pomegranate & orange juice.
Just add Galata to your destinations. You will not have a communication problem because there will be other tourists too and many places speak English well.
