Mangerie is an almost hidden gem. Although very popular among locals, a tourist can easily miss it as this cafe/restaurant is located at the top of a building. Here is what you have to do: find Ebil coiffeur on Cevdetpasa Caddesi in Bebek and start climbing up the stairs nearby till you reach the terrace. Congratulations; you’ve found Mangerie, my (and many others’) favorite spot in Bebek.
In 2014, Mangerie celebrated its tenth year and for all this time it has not disappointed me even once. At Mangerie, I love catching up with friends but also spending time alone while reading a book or working on my laptop. Its white walls and floor represent calmness in a chic way. Here is the place to find the stylish and cool crowd of Istanbul, spending quality time while enjoying Mangerie’s delicious food and drinking fresh cocktails.
Mangerie is especially known for its rich breakfast plate, one of the best in Istanbul. The breakfast is served all day so you don’t have to rush. You can also try pear and mascarpone toast and scrambled eggs with daily baked buttery croissant. For dessert; I highly recommend the double chocolate brownie, a taste you don’t want to miss.
If you have the time, go to Mangerie on weekdays (much less crowded). Whether you choose its beautiful wide terrace overlooking the Bosphorus and Asian side or the classy and comfy interior space, Mangerie promises good food and mood.
