Whether your are hungry or not, you can eat mussels (midye) anytime. Midye mi means “is it mussels” in Turkish. It’s a very little spot with 5 or 6 tables.
They have a menu full of all kinds of mussels. When you sit, they bring you a big bowl of stuffed mussels, which is one of our traditional night snacks. There is spicy rice in mussels you can eat after squeezing lemon in them.
Then they have grilled mussels with herbs, plain or cheese, French-Belgian bistro style mussels (moules frites) and fried mussels. They also serve spiral-shaped potato chips which are very crispy and spicy (optional).
If you go the Bağdat Caddesi on the Asia side, you can find this spot while walking on the street. And maybe you want to have a break with some mussels and a beer.
