As a bookworm, I love discovering recently opened bookstores in the city. Naturally, I got super excited when I saw Minoa, a new bookstore cafe in Akaretler, and paid a visit as soon as possible.
Let me describe Minoa in a few words: heaven for book lovers. The beautiful interior is surrounded by tall bookcases displaying a wide range of genres in English and Turkish: classics, art, history, design, food, childrens’, comics, photography and so on…All of them are presented beautifully and there are so many to choose from. Most likely, you will want to buy many books even though there are lots of others at home waiting to be read (problems of a bookworm). Make sure you go downstairs to what looks like a cellar. I thought I was in the headquarters of “The Secret Society of Bookworms”.
Minoa serves delicious food and is a nice spot for working, reading, having breakfast, lunch or a cup of coffee. The only downside is that you can’t take the books to your table and read them there unless you buy. Apart from that, Minoa is great for book shopping and an exciting new spot for literature lovers in Istanbul.
