Pastel – Tea o’clock at Bosphorus

Whenever I want to feel French I go to Pastel in Bebek, a relatively small patisserie/cafe serving delicious pastry and desserts. Even looking at Pastel’s dessert buffet makes me happy and feel like I am in Paris. I love gazing at the beautifully aligned French desserts, knowing that no matter what I choose others will remain in my mind for the next visit.

In addition to pastry and desserts, Pastel also offers breakfast and lunch including dishes like menemen (Turkish scrambled eggs with pepper, onion and tomatoes), handmade pasta and sandwiches. The smell of freshly baked muffins, brownies, cookies and croissant fill the air in the morning. Chocolate ├ęclair, lemon mousse with strawberries and caramel religieuse are my favorites to accompany my tea of coffee. You can also buy nicely packaged biscotti, granola and caramel popcorn.

At Pastel, everything is of the finest quality. All of the dishes, desserts and drinks are made with the best ingredients and presented in a neat way with chic white napkins. Their care for detail and mouthwatering desserts make Pastel a great spot for tea o’clock.
