Who would’ve thought that one of Kraków’s nicest hideaways from the everyday hustle and bustle is secluded just below the surface of Floriańska, one of the city’s busiest streets? If you know where to look, you’ll find Czarka, a tranquil tea room offering a tremendous choice of fine quality teas you had no idea existed.
In this case 13 is the number you don’t want to miss. Enter the gate, pass several souvenir shops, look for the HERBACIARNIA (which stands for tea room) standing sign. Then go down the steep stairs and enter the door on the left to find yourself in a dim and cosy cellar smelling of good tea, spice and everything nice. The owners of the place run an online tea shop as well. Feel free to ask anything – the staff is really in the know.
Czarka is a fantastic place to sit or lie down on the carpets and cushions and enjoy quality time with friends. I also love reading and working there, as the atmosphere is quiet, intimate and truly boosts creativity. Last but not least, it’s ideal for relaxing and local people-watching (trust me, this place is far from being touristy). Don’t miss this Kraków hidden gem!
