Jak Wam Się Podoba – Multilingual bookshop

This is probably the best proof that good things come in small packages. I stumbled upon this small bookstore by accident and it went beyond all my expectations. The place is named after the Polish translation of Shakespearean “As You Like It”, and as I like it it really is.

The books they offer come in several languages, but the biggest selections are available in English, German and Spanish. After introducing foreign friends to my favourite Polish authors, I usually guide them to Jak Wam Się Podoba. It’s the ultimate Kraków bookshop for purchasing wonderfully translated and published editions of Szymborska, Miłosz, Herbert and other noteworthy poets and writers from Poland.

Another shelf of my particular liking is the one with art albums. Here all photography and painting aficionados will find a lot of titles to put on their bucket list (or to purchase them immediately). Drop by while on the way from Old Town to Kazimierz – you’re sure to find something you’ll fall in love with!
