Na Kotłowem club is located on the first floor of one of the old tenements on Westerplatte street (main street surrounding Old Town). After climbing up the stairs you need to open the big door, which gives the impression you’re entering someone’s private apartment. If you are lucky, you may be seated in a second room, opened for special events only – Polish kings’ portraits are hanging on the wall – so you may get the impression they’re all observing you.
“Na Kotłowem” is a great spot with a family atmosphere. Any time I come there, I feel like I’m at an old friend’s house- the friendly and cosy atmosphere of this place makes me come back any time I want to play table soccer or pool, or watch a Polish football game. Although this spot is not very popular, it has its own fans and frequent visitors.
The name of this pub comes from a Polish word “kocioł”, which means big kettle. “Na Kotłowem” was opened in the former building of Craft Guild of Food in 1989 and has incessantly operated here since then.
This is a very popular place to play darts – Krakow’s Darts League was formed here a few years ago. Tournaments are organized here each Tuesday, so don’t be surprised by the crowds!
