Makroniarnia is located in a district that is becoming more and more popular now in Krakow – Podgórze. If you want to find it you need to walk from Kazimierz to Podgórze through Kładka Bernatka. And after a few meters on the right there it is, below street level – make sure you don’t miss it!
The first time you look at the spot you’ll probably wonder – “am I still in Poland”? During spring, summer and sometimes even autumn, with some tables outside, the location on the ground floor and all the flowers and photos… it looks like some place in Italy or in another southern European city.
Inside it’s more in the “Krakow-style” – so there are a lot of trinkets and antiques, but all together it connects this interesting mixture of Polish-Italian and gives feeling to this place. It might sound strange, but you need to see the bathroom where you will find even an old radio and a lamp with shade ;), that’s all I’ll say!
As for the food – I’ve written that it is a kingdom of pasta, and you will understand why reading the menu; however it may happen that some people will say that there shouldn’t be so many items inside because it is hard to choose. Of course it’s impossible to taste everything but you need to start with trying something. And if you’re not a big fan of pasta you can order some pizza, soup or just dessert – they’re also tasty.
