Adam Standring (1984)
I moved to Lisbon on New Year’s Eve 2008 to come and live with my wonderful Portuguese girlfriend, Sarah. I was born and grew up in Manchester, United Kingdom, and I graduated with a degree in English Literature, from the University of York, in 2006. Since then I’ve lived in London, Manchester and now Lisbon.
I am currently studying for a Masters degree in Politics and have a traineeship at an EU agency here in Lisbon. In my spare time I love to listen to music and I have recently started my own club night in Lisbon where I play all kinds of indie and electro music (badly) in an attempt to get my friends to dance. Apart from that I like to see films at one of the many cinemas near me and explore Lisbon (and then write about those explorations).
Why Lisbon?
Lisbon is a fantastic city that never fails to surprise me. It is a city with many layers, just when you think you have got through one you realize there are many many more beneath.
