If there are concepts that fascinate me those are the hybrids, because the combination of activities in one space allow me to enjoy my free time even better. That’s why Chiado is one of my favourite places in the late afternoon.
It brings together in one space the concepts of bookstores, bars and literary clubs. It is primarily for the end of the afternoon, but nothing prevents us from starting our day surrounded by culture.
It also serves light meals (salads, sandwiches, burgers) and has an extensive menu of beers, wines and gins that would delight anyone. I would suggest you try and ask about the Chiado wine, which, besides having a poem in the bottle, is a great red wine.
In Chiado, you can also find presentations, recitals of poetry, art exhibitions, children’s activities, among others – take a drink after another day of wandering through the city, browse the editorial news, or maybe attend a literary meeting or book launch.
At our disposal are not only national but also international literary works. This way, a greater number of people in this initiative of offering culture while eating or drinking can be reached.
I suggest that you surrender to toasts with Alentejo bread that are divine and great companions for reading.
