This Deli/grocery/coffee shop/restaurant is just one of those spots that doesn’t lose its vibe despite the crowds that come in and out of the dock right next to it.
It sits right on the Tagus River, so you can imagine the view! (if you aren’t unlucky to have a huge cruiseship docked right in front of the terrace, blocking the whole view).
When you enter, you will find all sorts of delicatessen from Portugal and abroad: chorizos of all kinds, amazing Portuguese and Italian cheeses, pâtés, bread, fresh pastas, marmalades and many other exquisite delights, plus a good selection of national and international wines. It all looks delicious and I have trouble just getting through the deli section to the cafeteria…
It is all very gourmet style, and prices, unfortunately, match the style. Same goes for the light meals and snacks they serve in the cafeteria, though a hot meal will cost as much as snacks and sandwiches, so you may as well go with the former as they are all pretty good. In any case, the good thing is that you will get to try some of the delights you find on the shelves behind you (making it difficult to cross the deli section again without buying a ton of things when you leave).
The brunch they serve on weekends and holidays is also worth a try and a great way to start a lazy Sunday.
