Are you one of those people who don’t particularly like to shop in crowded shopping malls or buy unoriginal presents found at just any large chain? Do you prefer your money to end up in the right hands and support local businesses and entrepreneurs? If you answered yes to all the above, then I have the right tips.
The Lisbon’s Artisans Association is a good option if you want to buy handmade pieces made by local artisans and craftsmen. The association aims to promote and advertise crafts, ensuring its quality and authenticity. From handmade bags, totes and baskets, to jewelry, sculptures or ceramics, their store in Entrecampos has plenty of amazing pieces at fair prices. There are no intermediaries and you are buying directly from the artists.
If you want to do more than buying, you can become a member, take part in their activities or place your products in the store if you are an artisan. They also offer regular workshops of all sorts if you want to feed your creative side.
If you want to take it one step further and offer truly unique presents, “Presentear-te” gives you the chance to participate in creating your gifts. Here you can combine offered pieces, created by talented local artists with the option to personalize the gifts – from a ceramic piece telling a unique story, to a song or a poem specially written for someone or even a dance to dazzle the lucky recipient.
