This one is very different from my previous posts. It has a monumental meaning for the cultural heritage of Ljubljana. I remember the field trips we used to take in primary school. Of course, the culture itself then had a different meaning for our still developing, naïve grey cells. So many rooms, underground, above ground, so many memories of “cool” new discoveries. One room, on the 1st floor, has been particularly etched in my memory. I don’t want to ruin the surprise, so I’ll give you a hint – it’s retro, very retro! Over time, the museum hasn’t lost its intensity. I certainly visit it less frequently nowadays, but I still manage to pay a good one from time to time.
There’s also a café underneath it, on the path to the archaeological section, where one can see the remnants of the lasts remnants of the Roman Empire. But the café deserves a whole other post of itself.
