Gligora cheese shop – Paradise for cheese lovers

To be honest, there are more things than just cheese in a little corner shop in a squared building on Ljubljana’s central market. Be sure to check it all, from local cheese and many other dairy products, nuts, proper eggs, dried meat products, oils…but Gligora is a must for a particular cheese, one of my favorites. Gligora’s showcase is sheep milk cheese from the island Pag, with protected designation of origin (PDO).

Nowadays the Island Pag in the Adriatic sea in neighbouring Croatia is known for wild parties, but for quite some time they were more famous for a very particular cheese. The thing with this cheese is, that it is made from the milk of authentic Pag sheep that eat very aromatic flowers, like sage, that are the only ones to survive in this robust nature.

So check out Gligora cheese shop for authentic Pag cheese, one of my favorite cheeses in the world, among other well chosen goodies.
