My personal summer rule number 1: There’s no summer without Gajo’s summer garden. Tables underneath the treetops, jazz, good company and a bottle of beer – do I need to write anything else to convince you? I will.
Gajo is one of the most relaxed places in Ljubljana I can imagine. Everything is perfect for me: located by the main street between Tivoli and Prešeren square, between the Opera, the National and Modern galleries and a mass of old Rog bicycles chained to an iron fence and the summer garden, which is like poetry for me, during day or night. In daytime I’d choose a deckchair, freshly squeezed lemonade and enjoy reading a book and listen to some jazz in the background.
Every Monday evening there are student jam sessions, always a pleasure and always packed with visitors, so if you want a table, you have to get there early as possible.
