Having an exquisite taste for living and staying in a student dorm aren’t mutually exclusive by necessity. At least not in the case of Rožna Dolina (literal translation – flower valley), where the city’s Beverly Hills area (as the locals like to call it) meets the cheapest kind of student housing.
Being sort of an ironic part of the town, it offers the clearest insight into a typical Slovenian student’s life-i.e. a whole campus, reserved for the biggest parties in the country, huge playgrounds for football, basketball, street workout or something in between and even a beach volleyball court right in the middle of it just for themselves.
If you didn’t live there as a student, you probably missed your life’s pinnacles of procrastination, unprotected sex and/or drug abuse.
But don’t worry, as one “adventurer” to another, I advise you to check the scene out on Tuesdays in October or in early Spring when there are massive freshmen welcoming/goodbye bashes. Remember, you are not a student if you don’t pay a visit to a Rožna Dolina’s party at least once.
P.S. The pic portrays the mess left behind after the notorious last-party-of-the-year-2016 in the ill-famed Dorm no. 3!
