I have wanted to write about PraPESA for a long time, but it was impossible, since there was no actual and more or less permanent location (outside the virtual world). Now you can buy some products in the Museum of Architecture and Design and it’s a pleasure for me to write about young hopefuls of Slovenian design.
Sara Badovinac and Peter Zabret, founders of PraPESA, started to transform everyday used objects and give them a new perspective. Their idea is that simplicity, innovativeness and functionality can bring new life to an object, which can make somebody’s day.
One of my favorites is definitely a light switch turned into a slightly quirky necklace. Or using two tape measures to form a calendar…have you ever thought about that? I know that I’m repeating myself through some articles (check out Smetumet), but I really love the whole philosophy about reusing old stuff with a new meaning. It makes you think about what you could do with all the “useless” junk in your closet.
Another amazing project is 3 minute tea stories. You know that waiting for your tea-water to boil is one of those moments when time freezes. 3 minute tea stories are a possible solution for your problem and also the reason why I’m able to write this article (you can buy them at the museum).
