One of my favorite things about cities in general is the possibility to choose between different varieties of quick snacks. Just to be clear, I’m not talking about the greasy ones like burgers and kebabs, although I enjoy eating a burek every now and then. I wrote about it the article Falafel and I criticized the lack of quality fast food in Ljubljana. Well… it seems like things are slowly getting better and in this article I’m going to write about the latest update in Ljubljana’s fast food offer – Indian/Bengali fast food restaurant Tandoori.
It opened at the beginning of summer 2012 near Rog and it’s become a popular spot. I love that you can get great food, prepared by Bengali cooks, for a reasonable price. Roughly, the menu is divided between vegetarian and non-vegetarian ‘sandwiches’, where you can choose between chapatti and naan.
Most of the sandwiches cost € 3.70 or € 4.20 for a double sandwich. I must admit, at first I was a bit skeptical – € 3.70 for just a sandwich? But it’s more than that, it’s a small package of South Asia, rolled into naan/chapatti, full of fresh vegetables, tasty meat (optional), spiced with mango and chili sauce. I was hooked with the first bite. And also the cooks are super friendly! They will explain everything to you with the biggest smile on their faces.
