Ziferblat – Pay for the time, not the coffee

Imagine the most warm and cosy place, a living room decorated in a style like your grandmother’s. Now, imagine the smell of coffee and freshly baked cinnamon cookies. Well done, this is exactly what Ziferblat looks and smells like. A place full of memories is hidden in the small courtyard, very central. Right away at the door when you enter you are greeted by a nice fellow who will show you around.

The shelves are full of books, a brown piano waits for a person to play a tune, even Gobelin tapestries hang on the walls. The cupboard next to the entrance is full of various alarm clocks, named after famous Slovenian comic book characters, hence you will have to pick your own alarm clock when you come and return it when you leave. You can make yourself a coffee or tea, eat an infinite amount of home-baked biscuits, talk to people, put together jigsaw puzzles, work or relax. Everything is free except the time you spend there. And by paying for the time you’ll be making a donation towards the further development of this unique social experiment.

Ziferblat’s doors are open to everyone. This space with truly international soul brings together people of different backgrounds, nationalities, religions, even beliefs. But what they all have in common is that they are open-minded, friendly and they help co-create the space.
