Columbia Road Flower Market – A Sunday stroll

There is nothing like waking up early on a Sunday morning and taking a stroll down Columbia Road Flower Market. Every Sunday, this humble little road gets transformed into a garden oasis full of vendors with bright blooming flowers and exotic foliage. The scent of freshly cut flowers fills the air and is an indescribable delight to wander through the bustling crowd to view the colourful displays. There is a vast array of flowers and plants on display from fresh cut lavender, potted succulents to even 10-foot banana trees. Many of the sellers grow their own plants or import them from around the world and sell them (for the most part) at reasonable prices.

Whatever plants you may fancy, it’s certainly a sight to see. After you’ve had your fill of flowers, make sure to check out the independent shops and cafes nearby to browse other treasures along this street. Overall, it’s a lovely way to spend your Sunday morning, even if it’s only to browse the enchanting displays and small shops.
