Being an artist myself, I’m always on the hunt for new artisan pop-ups or markets for inspiration and unique items. Old Spitalfields Market happens to be one of my go-to places for unique gifts at reasonable prices. What makes this place interesting is that it hosts different market categories depending on which day you attend. Their main market days are from Thursday to Sunday and can offer anything from artisan goods to antiques to clothing and art! I often get small jewellery items or leather goods depending on what’s on for the day.
What’s also nice is that it remains covered and contains many small shops and restaurants in the area, which is perfect on even the more cloudy days in London. And for those non-shoppers, there is a nice selection of seats to grab a pint while their shopaholics roam the stalls. Overall, it is an intimate venue and it’s just enjoyable to walk around and browse the unique items. Make sure to check out their website for what market is on for the day and often hold pop-events that go late in the evening.
