About me
As a child of academic professors who hopped around a lot, I have dual US/UK nationality and have lived in both countries equally, making me a natural traveler and explorer.
Currently I’m the assistant editor of a new website on Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American culture in the UK called Candela Live. It’s really exciting because there has never been anything like it before and there is so much to write about! London is bursting with Latino events from the annual Flamenco Festival to several Latin American and Spanish film festivals and many many more musical, dance and cultural events.
Last year I did a masters in journalism and as a culture and food enthusiast I am always seeking new avenues of pleasure via restaurants, cafes and bars. I have a deep passion for Latin America, especially for Brazil where I lived for a year, honing my taste for cold coconut juice and learning traditional folk dancing and the wonders of turning feijoida into a vegetarian dish.
In my free time, you might catch me watching a documentary at the ICA, reading a book on climate change or planning my next tattoo.
London lover
After finishing my undergraduate degree in Manchester two years ago there was no doubt in my mind: London was the obvious choice. The city oozes culture and options for food and drink are endless. The rich international and multicultural make up of the city is refreshing. In every aspect you are spoilt for choice, but hopefully some of our recommendations will help!
