The Soho district of London provides a plethora of choices when it comes to eating out. It’s one restaurant/bar after another and when you wander around that area after work hours, it’s literally buzzing. To be honest, I’ve never really given Soho a good look when it comes to places I would make a note to visit again. After discovering Pix Pintxos, I knew it would be a start of something new.
Pix Pintxos is a tapas place – Spanish tapas, of course. When you get here, you are ushered to your table and given your plates. You can choose any pintxo from the bar from tortilla, gazpacho, chorizo, queso manchego, pan tomaca, boquerones, and even churros con chocolate! Each item has a skewer on it, either short or long. The length of the skewer indicates its price. Once you finish your pintxo, you place the skewer in the small jar, which is also provided to you at your table. They use these skewers to calculate your bill. It’s a very simple system.
The pintxos are yummy and interesting, too – sweet potato tortilla, chorizo dipped in quince. Fancy. Well, a bit, but hey, they’re good. This place in Soho is perfect for pre-theatre dinner as they will fill you up without making you feel sleepy. It was the reason why I found it in the first place. But as I said, now that I’ve discovered it, I will definitely go back.
