This is my favourite pizza place in Northwest London. If you’re looking for thin and crispy then look elsewhere. Sacro Cuore is home of the Southern Italian doughy chewy crust pizza. To start, share a couple of starters. Try the burrata – a ball of buffalo mozzarella mixed with cream on a bed of rocket – and the flavoursome melanzane parmigiana. Then move on to pizza – the Tartufata is to die for. Thinly shaved mushrooms, parmesan shavings, fresh basil and truffle oil make this a must.
Massive stylised light bulbs hang from ceiling around the edge of the room creating a soft light and a graffiti-esque mural of Pompeii adorns the back wall. A small selection of non-alcoholic drinks are on offer but the massive serving of fresh squeezed orange juice is always on the top of my list. They also serve imported Italian bubbly lemon and orange drinks and wine and beer.
