About me
I’m an English postgraduate with a love for music, sport and theatre. I’m friendly, relaxed and like to think I let the irritating squalls of life wash over me, though that’s probably an epic overstatement.

When not bereaving rock and roll I like to grieve stoically for my beloved Charlton Athletic FC, of whom I’m been following since I was in Teenage Turtle y-fronts. I also like to visit the theatre if the ticket price isn’t my monthly packet, or just stroll about aimlessly when I should probably be doing something.

I currently work as an entertainment journalist, so invariably know everything about Brad, Britney, Becks and Bollywood. I also do plenty of music writing so I should be able to help out with tips for good live venues, of which there are plenty here.

Anyhow for these reasons I think I make a pretty good sage for all that’s worthwhile in my home city, and I hope I can make someone’s trip to London a little less liturgical (and expensive). I learned when traveling that guide books can only take you so far, so a bit of local knowhow is ideal for this great dirty metropolis.

Why London
I can’t profess to have spent my life hotwheeling round the world, or indeed even England. Born, bred and raised in and around London, I’ve been visiting the capital for work and pleasure since a spotty schoolboy, and began testing its waterholes not long after. I’m always out at gigs, clubs and pubs and love London’s incredible diversity.

This city might not have the weather, the beaches or the cloud-hugging buildings. But there are three things it does better than almost anywhere alse on the planet: music, history and theatre. The former and latter are harldy secrets; The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Sex Pistols, Oasis – Shakespeare, Pinter, Shaw. You’ll find them all in some form in London if you look hard enough. History geeks, though, will have their work cut out visiting all London’s incredible FREE museums and attractions – and London’s history is as potted and interesting as Mickey Rourke’s mugshot.

Basically it’s all here, so enjoy.
