Highgate village is one of the nicest parts of London. There are lots of little cafes, ridiculously expensive houses, a famous cemetery and a whole host of beautiful pubs.
The Woodman is one of my favourite pubs in the area solely for the reason that it has a massive beer garden with big screens that show live football. There is a decent selection of real ales and the food menu looks appetizing, although I’ve not explored too much of it so far.
On a sunny Saturday or Sunday afternoon I like to take a walk through nearby Waterlow Park, which has great views of the city, before settling down with a pint and a plate of chips in front of the outdoor TV.
The atmosphere is tremendous in the “outdoor lounge” when there is a game is on and for this reason I’ll be watching a lot of Premier League games here next season.
