Whenever I’m craving ramen at an affordable price, I always look to one of two places: Daikokuya (check the Daikokuya article), and Tsujita LA Artisan Noodle. Tsujita Artisan noodle is unique because they serve the broth and the noodles separately. The broth is so rich in flavor, that customers are expected to simply dunk the noodles in and enjoy, rather than slurping it down at the same time. The broth is made with pork, and is really thick and savory. The noodles are also thick, and served with a lime on top which is meant to be squeezed just before dipping. The contrast of flavors will certainly make your taste buds rejoice!
Like many of the restaurants in the Sawtelle district, this one is cash only, so make sure you stop by an ATM before paying a visit. I also advise calling ahead to check the wait time, especially on weekends where it gets busy. Once you arrive, be cautious about parking, it’s mostly residential with a few metered spots along the street.
