Al Trapo – Almost too pretty to eat

Al Trapo is a hidden gem in the very center of Madrid. This restaurant, located inside the ‘Hotel de las Letras’ in Gran Vía street, is not the usual ‘hotel restaurant’ at all. The contemporary decoration, the lovely ambience, and the friendly staff will make you enjoy your visit from the very first moment you arrive.

Al Trapo was previously under the guidance of renowned Spanish chef Paco Morales. Now the kitchen is fully managed by chef Rafa Cordón, the menu has been renewed with very interesting concepts and you can clearly see the work of both chefs in the new menu: Paco Morales’ mark and the soul of Rafa Cordón. Some new dishes are with the new twists on the previous ones but you will also find many totally new dishes.

Since most of the portions are smaller than average, it’s perfect to try more dishes to share with the table. Start your meal with a cocktail at the bar, then go to your table to enjoy some tapas style dishes and continue exploring their menu.
