The mediterranean spirit is very present in Arrocería Gala. From around 15 Euro you can try all types of rice dishes and, of course, typical paella as well. The menu also contains risotto, arroces caldosos, arroces de cuchara and many Spanish aperitif dishes. Each rice dish only is prepared for a minimum of four people, so Arrocería Gala is ideal for groups. The homemade desserts and refreshing sangria, wine or beer complete the meal. The place is divided in two areas. The entrance is special for its realist paintings of bulls in the countryside. You can also find a spacious patio which is covered, and has a crystal skylight. We went a few days ago — very disappointing. Would not recommend. The paella rice wasn’t very strongly flavored or especially anything. I would say B/B+. We stopped in later at Mercado de San Miguel (near Plaza Mayor) and tried a paella stand in the Mercado, and the contrast made it obvious how limited Arroceria version (and at 15Euro/pp minimum per head, how pricey compared to what we got at the Mercado for about 3Euro/pp) was. Would not recommend and so far not the best meal we’ve had in Madrid. Very disappointed!
My friend, who lives in Madrid, went here while I was visiting. I love the surroundings! The food was good but it was my first time tasting paella and it wasn’t as good as I expected.
Such a nice place! I went there last year, we asked a local to recommend to us a nice restarant (and not very expensive) to have paella!!! I really liked the food and the sagria there
