Since I grew up in Stockholm, Sweden, I never quite grasped what the Mexican cuisine was all about. And I wouldn’t find out until I moved to Madrid.
The idea of mexican food for me was limited to taco’s and places that served them like Taco Bar. My perception drastically changed when I discovered all the Mexican restaurants in this city that offered more than just the corn shell filled with minced meat and vegetables.
DF Bar is a small place that has honed their skills in making Tortas, which at first sight just seems like a grilled sandwich filled with a variety of condiments. But it’s just so much more, it’s an explosion of flavors and an incredibly cheap and filling meal. They of course have other side dishes like the chili fries that burns at just the perfect amount of scoville’s.
After I discovered this place I had to bring some Mexican friends and they were overjoyed by the food and the authenticity, and if I were you I would take their word for it.
