I don’t know a lot about the Greek cuisine except for some of their star dishes like Tsatziki, moussaka and feta cheese as well as their usage of the grill.
I’m not a huge fan of restaurant chains either but some of them prove me wrong and act as exceptions to the rule instead of just falling in line. Which this one kind of does.
Apart from several locations in Madrid they have restaurants in Barcelona as well as in Sitges and even one in Athens as well as some other cities.
Dionisos is a fairly new opened Greek restaurant in the neighbourhood of Barrio de las letras which is situated between the area of Sol and the train station Atocha. It’s in a great location for tourists since this is a very popular area for hotels and hostels.
The food is what you expect it to be, a lot of grilled meats like chicken, entrecot as well as souvlakis and gyros. The vegetables are incredibly fresh and the Moussaka is delicious but the best dish I’ve tried in this place is one of their desserts. It was a mouth watering, almond based cake filled with roasted pear, caramel and topped with chocolate ice cream and cinnamon.
