This is a classic bar/restaurant in Chueca, one of the city’s trendiest neighborhoods. Cool décor, friendly staff, great food, and a chance to rent a movie have turned Diurno into a safe choice for many years. I mean, where else can you still rent a movie nowadays? I have to say, however, that it has not been one of my favorite spots, but it has recently gained a new vibe, so I paid a visit a few weeks back. And now, of course, it is one of my new favorites.
The reason for this is the new brunch menu, which includes a cocktail. Yes, no kidding here. There is a main dish, dessert (hard choice because they are all delicious), coffee/tea/fruit juice and then a cocktail. And the best part is, it is totally price friendly. Eggs Benedict, green tea, cheesecake and a strawberry mojito. That was my choice, and I cannot recommend it enough.
The menu is available in English, and I know some of the waiters speak English and also French, so that is a plus. No other bar or restaurant has this for a reasonable price, not that I know of at least. I promise to investigate further and let you know what I find. But so far, Diurno has one of the best brunches in town.
