Beer is usually associated with pub food, or tapas in Spain – it’s impossible to find a restaurant with a good selection of beers that offers very high quality food. This is why El Sainete is a very unique place in Madrid: they combine those two worlds that seemed to be condemned to live separate, but not anymore!
They have an astonishing craft beer selection: 20 on tap -22 soon when they finish brewing their own- that you can order from 10cl, perfect for a beer flight or to pair every dish of your meal with a different beer, to 47cl if you prefer to enjoy a larger drink; and around 150 in bottles from all over the world. They have almost every style.
Forget about patatas bravas, oily tasteless croquettes or fried squid. Fran Vicente is the Executive Chef at El Sainete and you should know what this means if you know him: he loves tradition and he only uses the best products money can buy, but he applies the most modern techniques. Close your eyes, put some food in your mouth and what your grandma used to cook for you when your were a kid will come to your mind, only better! Oh, wait!, they also have Iberian ham croquettes, if you can’t live without them while enjoying your beer.
If you’re a brunch person you shouldn’t miss their brunch on Sundays.
