If you’re anything like me and your extended knowledge about New Orleans consists of (without googling) Mardi Gras, jazz music and the tragic events of hurricane Katrina, you’d be doing yourself a favor by paying this place a visit.
I’ve been living around the corner from this place for a while now and every time I pass it by I told myself that I needed to go there. And after I had lunch here for the first time I wanted to buy beads, watch Treme, dance in the streets and start researching alligators.
The Cajun-style kind of homecooked feeling you get from eating their chicken gumbo is enough to make it worthwhile. They have plenty of other items on their menu that are very rustic and just make me feel at ease and very comfortable sitting down here.
I have never seen a New Orleans style restaurant in Madrid before which makes it a perfect and unique place for travellers to try something with a different taste palette to it after all those tapas.
