Ever since a while ago, some restaurants have been offering a gourmet version of traditional street food, and this is what John Barrita, the new restaurant of Javi Estévez -chef and owner of La Tasquería (check out the article ‘La Tasqueria – they’ll make you love offal’)– does. Their menu may look simple, but not the way it’s prepared.
John Barrita is synonym of sandwiches, but how you’ve never seen them before. La Tasquería has partnered with La Panotheca, one of the best bakeries in Madrid, to offer amazing food on fabulous breads. Whether it’s the out-of-this-world beef cheek, roast beef, sardines or Madrid’s traditional calamari sandwich with a twist, they are just some examples of what you may find at John Barrita.
They also have few tapas-style small plates perfect to share, such as artichokes with foie gras, octopus, potato salad, and some desserts: bread pudding, French toast, etc.
John Barrita is not an ordinary sandwich place. Start your meal with some of their small plates, continue sharing some sandwiches and end a great meal treating yourself with something sweet and your day will be brighter.
