This cool bar and restaurant can easily turn into my new favorite in the city. What I like about it is that it is not your regular Spanish restaurant, but rather an exotic combination of food and cocktails that are rare to find. I believe it’s the kind of place a traveler would appreciate because you get a taste of different parts of the world.
The owners are from the Canary Islands, and of course a taste from that part of Spain is on the menu. But you will also find different dishes from the Mediterranean, Asia and Latin America. Just imagine: tuna tartar, “arepas” (typical Venezuelan dish), red tuna tataki, butter fish, quinoa salad, red curry with chicken, and many more you need to see for yourself. Please try their chicken croquettes with black olive cream, trust me on this. And don’t forget to ask for chocolate truffles for dessert.
There is a tropical feeling in La Jefa that I love; where plants and fruits are everywhere as part of decoration. It looks like a colonial house actually. The kitchen is open all day, but on the menu it’s clearly stated which dishes are available at what time. So keep this in mind when coming here, at any moment of the day good food is guaranteed. The bar area at the entrance is very welcoming and cozy, and you must make reservations if the plan is to have dinner.
