A friend of mine was looking for photo shoot locations in the city and that is how I first came across Le Coco. Decoration, furniture, colors, lighting, music, doors and even walls; it is all so perfectly put together and colorful that that is the first thing you will remember about this restaurant.
But then, it is a gastro-bar after all and plenty of options are available since it is open all day. I have yet to try their menu; I can only recommend their home-made cakes and cocktails. And of course, I believe they are worth your visit. My favorite? Oreo Cake. You definitely want to ask for that one.
It so happens that Le Coco is located in one of the most popular neighborhoods in the city, Chueca, so it gets packed rather quickly on weekends. If the plan is to have dinner, make reservations in advance, even if it is a meal just for 2 people. If you want to spend the afternoon with your friends and have a great time, then any time is good as there are communal tables available in case the place is full. Late night cocktails are the perfect plan for me at Le Coco, so make room for this charming spot full of details in your night out in Madrid.
