MadrEAT – Street food comes to Madrid!

Normally eating food in the street is frowned upon here (eating is a serious business and you should always take the time to sit down and enjoy food in company), but not at the MadrEAT food fair!

This is usually a quiet park in the middle of the financial district. But when the street food vendors turn up, the place turns into a hive of activity – lively conversation, mouth-watering smells, upbeat music, and people scarfing down delicious-looking food right, left and centre.

From a stand selling vermut (the drink of choice for Madrileños on lazy Sundays); to one selling a ‘tuned’ version of the traditional Plaza Mayor snack – the squid sandwich; and another selling traditional Spanish stews, including ‘Cocido Madrileño’, there’s no shortage of local food on offer here. But you’ll find everything from Colombian arepas to German sausages, whatever you like!

If you like meat, you should definitely try the burgers at the La Finca stand – they’re made from what may be the best meat to be found in Madrid.

MadrEAT takes place on the third weekend of every month.
