I discovered Martina Cocina after strolling through the Rastro one Sunday afternoon, and I’ve been a faithful customer ever since. It’s a small cafe/restaurant about a five-minute walk from La Latina metro stop, the food is homemade and of good quality (and more on the healthy side, I have to mention). The interior of the cafe is a mix of home-y and chic, and it’s usually pretty calm, which makes it a perfect atmosphere for both coming with your laptop to get some work done or heading over with some friends (nobody likes having to scream over the table, am I right?)
They have daily menus of the day as well as breakfast, snacks, coffees and tea. One of my favorite beverages that I’ve gotten there was the mint and honey infusion, made with fresh mint! Take a look into the display case and you’ll see all the freshly baked goods of that day – expect a healthy variety of sweet and savory treats. Think cakes, brownies, croissants, and every day they offer different types of quiche and empanada.
