Martinez Bar – A piece of New York in Madrid

I have, for as long as I can remember always been influenced and drawn to the American culture, from everything from the music industry to their political climate and the diversity of the country. It hardly goes by unnoticed by anyone and Martinez bar can not go unnoticed either.

It’s a fairly new bar that looks like someone just took a bar in New York, hired a construction crew to separate it from whatever building it was attached to and shipped it over to Madrid.

Martinez is a pretty ambitious bar when it comes to the drinks and cocktails they serve and I feel that as long as it’s kept on the right side of pretentiousness, it should be rewarded.

I love the fact that you can get more than the generic brand of beer here. One of my favorite breweries, Brew Dog from Scotland, is featured in their selection of beers. Try a rich 5 AM Saints or a more light and fruit toned Punk IPA (India Pale Ale) if you’re a lover of the golden liquid. They have a menu with several interesting American classics and the bagel brunch on Sundays is great.
