Espartinas street in Madrid is becoming a foodie heaven, it’s unbelievable how such a small street has so many good restaurants.
The last restaurant to arrive was Recreo last summer, and everybody is loving what their chefs are doing, both come from the prestigious Michelin-starred restaurant, Abadía Retuerta.
Recreo is a modern tavern where you can eat traditional Spanish dishes with a new twist, some international dishes, and sometimes a mix of both. Their menu is small but they always have few specials depending on what they found at the market that day. I love when a restaurant serves small portions, it’s perfect to try more dishes to share with those at your table.
Their dishes may sound or look simple, but don’t let that fool you: all their creations are delicate, elegant, cooked to perfection and super tasty.
Their wine list is also short, but the offer is very interesting.
The staff is very friendly and they will make you feel right at home.
