I’m a total Germanophile so it won’t come as any surprise that Alberts Schloss is one of my favourite places for Bavarian grub, lashings of beer and dancing on the tables.
Alberts Schloss is set on the ground floor of the Albert Hall and inside mixes the traditional Alpine-style benches and huge copper tankards with a stylish decor, live shows and bands and a ‘Push for Prosecco’ button.
As well as German favourites such as Bratwurst, Sauerkraut and Schweinshaxe (pork knuckle), the Schloss is most famous for its huge selection of imported beers and Czech Urquell served from copper barrels. But even if Pilsner isn’t your thing, there’s also a great choice of wine, cocktails and authentic schnapps made on the premises. I can highly recommend the Apfel Strudel cocktail on a cold day!
Unsurprisingly Alberts Schloss is very popular with the locals, so it’s always worth trying to book ahead if you want to eat there.
