East Didsbury is a hot-pot of cafes and bars. With so many to choose from, it can be difficult to know which one to pick. Located just off the main road is Art of tea, which is much more than just another Didsbury café.
I’m not quite sure if this place classifies as a café, bar or restaurant; serving hot drinks, sandwiches, substantial meals and beer it seems like a mix of all three. What makes it really special is not the fine range of drinks on offer, but the bookshop. Attached to the back of the café, this shop, with floor to ceiling bookcases, is a treasure trove of second hand books. Browsing here you’ll find a huge range of literature, from fiction to history to poetry.
With a relaxed atmosphere and welcoming staff, this is a great place to come and eat, drink, read or work. In fact, I’m writing this sitting on a large red sofa in the corner, overseeing the café’s workings and sipping a cup of tea. Pure bliss.
